Deborah discovered and became instantly captivated with flameworking in 2006. The immediacy of melting glass in a flame into a bead or creature or imagining of her mind, the way glass flows, how everything else in life fades away when you are before the torch are what made flameworking the art of her heart and soul.
Heart and soul may also aptly describe her creative style; Angels, hearts, birds, totem animals and healing runes are some of what emerges from the flame before Deborah. Creation needs to have a meaning for her, a story to tell, a heart to touch, and if at all possible a connection between the object created and the person it will eventually find its way to.
Deborah has studied with Loren Stump, Kim Fields, Kate Fowle-Meleny, Jennifer Geldard, Trey Cornette, Tink Martin, Mary Lockwood and Andrea Guarino.
“I think I will always feel that my glass journey is just beginning, I am looking forward to a lifetime of discovering its depth and beauty.” Deb
